Harley Letner piloted his Youtheory / King Shocks / Toyo Tires #1570 buggy to a first in class / second overall in the "Pahrump Nugget 250" in November in Pahrump, Nevada (USA).  As a result, he won the 2017 Class 1500 championship of the US-based "Best In The Desert" series.  A total of 116 entries were signed up for the final race of the season. With his buggy competing on Toyo M/TR tires, Letner finished in a time of 04:01:06.

"Congratulations to Harley Letner on winning the 2017 Class 1500 championship in the Best In The Desert off-road racing series," said Stan Chen, senior manager of events and sponsorships, Toyo Tire USA. "This marks another desert racing championship for our Toyo Open Country line of tires, proving once again their durability in the toughest conditions."

Toyo Tires has had a long history of winning championships in the Best In The Desert series, beginning in 2005 when Jesse Jones won the overall.  During the 2017 desert racing season, Andy McMillin won the "Desert Parker 425" and the "SCORE Baja 500"; while Vildosóla Racing won the TT Legends class during the "SCORE Baja 1000".
