CARS SS04: San Juan de Marcona Round (Jan 9th, 2018) - 774 km (Liaison: 444 km - Leg: 330 km) - 57% Sand, 20% Soil, 23% Stones, 0% Vegetation - The beach where the stopwatch is started lends itself perfectly to mass starts, with neat lines of 15 bikes and 4-abreast acceleration contests for the cars. After this sprint along the beach, the drivers will tackle one of the longest-ever sandy sections in the history of the Dakar: A total of 100 km, with dunes of all sizes! This special stage is where certain racers will get ahead, especially since the last canyon is a little tricky to find...
