Since Marc Coma has left the organization of the Dakar Rally and the country of Argentina is not really interested "to pay" for the Dakar Rally 2019, the French organizer has a problem... normally in this time of the year everything is fixed. Yesterday the Minister of Tourism of Ecuador, Enrique Ponce D León, confirmed via Twitter, that his country will be part of the Dakar Rally in the future, which is actually not confirmed by the ASO.

"The Dakar is one of the most imortant and most followed sporting events in the world and we think the cooperation will bring positive results for the Tourism in Ecuador." But: They couldn´t say if it will be in 2019 or 2020... so the rally world still has to wait until the final announcement of the Dakar-organizer ASO.
