ED Racing’s Essa Al-Dossari blotted his copybook by rolling his South African-built Red-Lined Nissan Navara in the second 287.92km selective section of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge on Monday. The Saudi and his Emirati navigator Ali Hassan Obaid began the day in 14th position in the overall standings, but he has annoyed to roll the car in the dunes and was waiting for his service team to work on the car to enable him to continue with time penalties into the third desert stage.

"After around 100km from the start of the stage there was a slight downhill. It wasn’t a fast section and I was not driving too quickly," reported the Saudi. "The car rolled upside down. I don’t know exactly why it rolled. I am trying with the mechanics to find out what exactly happened. We are fixing the car to make sure that we can start again tomorrow."

Czech driver Martin Prokop set the fastest time of 03:55:15 and moved into the outright lead for the first time. He takes an overall-advantage of 00:10:30 over the FIA World Cup leader Jakub Przygonski into the third loop stage of 281.27km on Tuesday morning.
