Three days. That is what the Spanish Dakar-rookie Óscar Fuertes has left to achieve his great goal in the 2018 Dakar: To finish the race in his first participation. Wednesday, he has taken a step towards achieving this challenge by overcoming the 11th stage, which passed between Belén and Chilecito. After 280 kilometers the driver from Madrid finished as 33rd, with a time of 07:43:26 hours.

The excellent role of the SsangYong Motorsport team in the toughest rally in the world is reflected by its 28th position in the general classification. Fuertes also dominates among the Rookies, more than three hours ahead of the South African Hennie De Klerk (Volkswagen Amarok). The debutant, along with his co-driver Diego Vallejo, also appears in the 4th place in the category T1.3 (gasoline vehicles with two-wheel drive) and continues as the third best Spanish car.

After arriving very late on Tuesday, the Spanish couple has barely been able to rest before facing the stage of this Wednesday.
