The "Les Comes 4x4 Festival" in the near of Barcelona (Spain) was created to be the event for all lovers of the 4x4 world. A place where professionals, 4x4 enthusiasts, adventurers and nature lovers have their meeting point to share experiences in lovely surroundings. In this year the event will be held from March 9-11th.

The estate of Les Comes is the place where the meeting takes place. 1 hour from France, 45 minutes from Barcelona and well connected with Girona, Lleida and Tarragona. This natural area of 518 hectares of land and 70km of forest tracks, with different levels of difficulty is transformed to accommodate off road enthusiasts to spend a great weekend with the whole family.

The main thread is obviously 4x4 drive in all its facets, either for trade and exposure for professionals, or for amateurs and enthusiasts looking for different experiences.

Dakar Zone with live vehicles and Conference with live stars

One of the star features will be the BFGoodrich Dakar Zone, which in recent years has showcased vehicles such as the DeRooy team’s Iveco truck and winner of Dakar 2016; Jordi Juvanteny’s spectacular 6x6; and the cars of drivers such as Isidre Esteve, Xavier Foj or Cristina Gutierrez, to name just a few. Other spectacular vehicles from the world’s toughest rally will be on show this year at Les Comes.

On Saturday afternoon do not miss the Dakar conference where in recent years spectators have been able to listen great rally racing drivers like Nani Roma, Gerard DeRooy, Isidre Esteve, Xavi Foj, Jordi Juvanteny, Cristina Gutierrez, Moi Torraladrona, Albert Llovera and Rafa Tibau among others. "This year we will have some of them with us and they will tell us all the secrets and anecdotes of the Dakar 2018. Do not miss it," said the organizers.

Also for the "hardcore" offroad fans there will be some action: On Saturday, March 10 there will be the Supertrack Protos and Supertrack, a spectacular timed amateur test where participants will put their vehicles to the limit, overcoming obstacles of all kinds. Prizes will be awarded to the first classifieds.

More than 70 kilometers of 4x4 tracks for everyone

In Les Comes you can find more than 70 kilometers of trails and paths, divided into colour depending on the difficulty, but they are never fixed; they can be modified so they change every year. This is another of the land characteristics of Les Comes: The high variety of trails allows the creation of different spaces from one year to the other:

Initation circuit: Initiation place that allows the driver to see the characteristics and abilities of the vehicle in a very clear way and without the need of a lot of space. This is the place to experience the first sensations behind the steering wheel and to discover every gadget of our 4x4.

Blue routes: Easy tracks for all SUV’s and Camper. Also for all driving levels.

Green routes: Low difficulty trails, ideal for beginners and SUVs drivers that want a simple experience and an excellent view over the region.

Red routes: Higher difficulty. Those are delicate, broken trails that become worse depending on the weather. A reduction gearbox is useful in these trails.

Black routes: The reduction gearbox is needed and compulsory. Broken, steep paths, deep tyre tracks. We advise against getting into these paths alone. In the case of bad weather, there is virtually no access to these paths.

Brown routes: Only for expert pilots and prepared vehicles. These are the highest difficulty zones, dedicated to those who don’t mind if their vehicle gets “dirty”, to put it that way. In those places, rescue devices such as winch, sling, Hi-Lift, etc., are recommended.

Just as the Monte-Carlo Rally has its “Col du Turini”, le Tour de France its “Tourmalet” or Dakar had "Nema"... in Les Comes there are some places that, because of their special characteristics might set a milestone in the Iberian Peninsula 4x4 history.
